Area Manager USA & Canada
Who are we?
Secrid is an international pocketwear brand with a strong focus on innovation, design, and quality. Since our launch in 2009, we've delighted over 15 million people worldwide with a Secrid wallet. From our headquarters in De Binckhorst in The Hague, we design and sell our products through more than 8,500 points of sale across 90 countries. Production takes place in the Netherlands, with careful assembly by our Sheltered Workshop partners. We use only the finest quality materials to ensure longevity. In doing so, we prove that a people-centered and sustainable way of working is not only valuable but also commercially successful and future-proof.
The US and Canada represent a fast-growing and promising market for Secrid. As Area Manager USA & Canada, you'll have the unique opportunity to further develop this region based on the foundations already in place.
What will you be responsible for as Area Manager USA & Canada at Secrid?
As Area Manager USA & Canada, you'll be ultimately responsible for our growth in North America in revenue, brand positioning, and market development. You'll develop and implement a strategic plan for the region that brings together all sales channels (wholesale/retail, monobrand stores, department stores, corporate gifting, and e-commerce).
You combine strategic insight with a hands-on approach: in the short term, you'll develop a concrete action plan for the US and Canada, with clear growth objectives and a structure in which internal and external teams collaborate. You'll maintain direct contact with retailers and attend relevant trade shows to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities. In the longer term, you'll monitor execution, adjust where needed, and build a local network of agents, distributors, and strategic partners that align with Secrid's values.
You understand the North American market inside and out: the consumer, the culture, and the dynamics between independent retail and larger chains. You know where, when, and how Secrid needs to be present to grow sustainably. In collaboration with other Secrid circles (Marcom, Product Design, Distribution), you ensure everything aligns: from the right products and brand presentation to the optimal marketing mix. Internally, you serve as the connecting link between our headquarters, the founders, and your region, both culturally and commercially. This is why conversational Dutch is a real asset – it helps bridge our Dutch heritage with this emerging market.
Are you the right fit for this role?
We're looking for a commercial, energetic, and internationally oriented professional with:
At least 10 years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, or sales management, preferably with physical consumer products.
A proven track record in distributing and exporting a brand to the US and/or Canada.
Experience with sales across multiple channels: wholesale, monobrand stores, department stores, corporate gifting, e-commerce (direct & indirect).
Ability to translate strategic plans into concrete actions and manage progress and results on a daily basis.
Experience building brands in large, diverse regions and insight into how presence, timing, and positioning together determine growth.
Willingness to travel regularly to the US and Canada to visit partners, maintain relationships, and create new opportunities.
A natural talent for bridging cultures, markets, and teams.
Fluent English; conversational Dutch. An American or Canadian background is a plus.

A unique culture: with ownership, trust, and space to independently make an impact within a holacratic structure.
